Did Jesus have the disciples steal a donkey?

Many have accused Jesus of stealing, or at the least ordering the disciples to steal, a donkey for him to ride on into Jerusalem.  The part in question is Matthew 21:1-3.  Jesus seems to disregard if they have owners or not but wants the disciples to bring back this donkey that is tied up.  It seems suspicious at the least, so let’s see if it is true. Are there errors in the Bible?

There are so many people out there claiming mistakes in the bible.  A great deal of Christians shout loudly that the Bible is completely inerrant.  While antagonists laugh at such a claim, they say it proves the Bible is nothing more than a bunch lies and discrepancies.  So who is right? Continue Reading…

Is the Lakeland Florida revival of God?

Obviously there are many people on both sides of this fence.  I do not want this article to as one sided as most of the articles I have read on this subject.  I will do my best to present the evidence and draw my conclusions from it and to help the reader do the same.  So is this Lakeland Florida revival of God? Why become a Christian?

In a world of hundreds of religions and even anti-religion, the question begs to be asked.  Why become a Christian?  What does it have to offer me?  Is it different from the rest?  What can I expect when I become a Christian? Why… Why become a Christian? Continue Reading…

What is baptism?

It seems like such a simple question but it actually reaches into some highly debated issues. The concept and specifics of baptism are greatly left out of biblical texts. So what is it that we know about baptism? What is it and why is it a part of Christianity? Continue Reading…

How many times can you be baptized?

This is a question I know many have. I know personally of a few people who have been baptized 3, 4, and 5 times. Is this okay? Can we only be baptized once? Is it wrong to do it more than that? Continue Reading…

How Do I Find God’s Will For My Life?

“Lord, what is your will for my life?”

I think most Christians can say that at some point, if not daily, they say this prayer. I know it has been a staple of my prayers. But, what if we’re asking the wrong question? What if there’s more to following God’s will than just asking Him to reveal it to us? What if by praying this simple prayer we’ve rendered not only our prayers ineffective, but our witness as well? What if our own selfishness and passivity has precluded us from finding that exact thing for which we are seeking? – God’s will for our life. Continue Reading…

Who should be baptized?

I believe there is a misconception about who should get baptized. There are those that don’t think they’re ready and others who have no desire to at all. Some think they aren’t good enough to get baptized, but what does the Bible say about it? Continue Reading…

How did Jesus’ sacrifice save us?

It’s one thing to say that we are forgiven of our sins, but how exactly did Jesus do that through his death? Aside from people simply saying simply that Jesus’ death gave us forgiveness by God, is there a way to really show that’s even possible? Some of us have never given it a second thought and just assumed that however it works, it works, while others have serious doubts as to whether or not one person’s death could truly forgive ALL the sins of mankind. So how exactly did Jesus’ sacrifice save us? Continue Reading…

Why be Baptized — unpacked

As I speak with more people, and seek out more answers, I discover more questions. I also find that God continually uses others, circumstances, sermons, my research and studying, or any number of things to give me affirmation that He desires a close relationship with each of us. One such affirmation that I’ve recently received, is in regards to baptism. I’ve recently heard two questions that must not only be answered, but are more common than you might realize: “Why should I be baptized?” and “Did my baptism count?” While researching these questions I have been blessed to hear one of the most profound sermons on baptism that I’ve ever heard, Brad wrote a post on baptism, my dad was baptized this previous Sunday and I was able to be there to celebrate with him. I highly encourage you to take the time to read Brad’s article on this, as well as seek out the answers for yourself. In the interim I’m going to attempt to unpack baptism and why you should be baptized, and what it means to have your baptism count. I will preface this by saying that I am not here to argue doctrinal issues, but to shed some light on the importance of baptism.
